What Is Semax?
Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide based on a fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone, ACTH(4–10). It was developed in Russia, where related formulations have been used clinically; elsewhere it is studied as a research compound.

How Semax Is Studied to Work

It does not appear to act through classic ACTH (cortisol-releasing) activity at the fragments studied.
